Yaskawa Launches Industry’s First YRM-X Controller that Realizes i³-Mechatronics with Integrated Motion Control of Cells
Yaskawa Electric Corporation (Head Office: Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture; Representative Director and President: Hiroshi Ogasawara) announced a new solution concept called “i³-Mechatronics” in 2017 which adds digital data management to existing automation solutions.
In order to realize “revolutionary industrial automation” as set forth in its long-term business plan “Vision 2025,” and has been developping new products to realize the concept.
As part of this initiative, we lauch the industry’s first “YRM-X (ten) controller, ” which synchronizes various data of cells composing devices or/and industrial robots etc. at high speed, in real time, and in chronological order for integrated motion control.
１．Purpose of Launch
At various manufacturing sites, there are ongoing efforts to accelerate the progress of smart factories, such as using IoT and AI to improve production efficiency, quality, and traceability. The basis of these activities lies in grasping the operating status with data at production facilities.
In order to increase production efficiency, it is necessary to collect data from the various devices that compose a cell in an integrated and chronological order, analyze it based on such highly accurate data, and feedback the results to the production facilities.
In order to correspond to its neccesity, Yaskawa has commercialized the YRM-X Controller for integrated motion control of cells. This controller is linked with the “YASKAWA Cockpit” software tool, which can collect and analyze synchronized data in an integrated time series, to realize fast and realistic data feedback.
The YRM-X controller enables us to further accelerate the realization of the “i³-Mechatronics” solution concept as well as to reinforce the solution of customer’s business challange and the offer to an added value.
