CLPA BOLSTERS SUPPORT FOR ITALIAN AUTOMATION MARKET

The CC-Link Partner Association (CLPA) is expanding its support for automation vendors, machine builders and users in Italy. With the appointment of Alberto Griffini as Business Developer, the organisation is addressing the country's growing demand for the CLPA's open network technologies.

CLPA BOLSTERS SUPPORT FOR ITALIAN AUTOMATION MARKET

The Italian industrial automation sector is one of Europe's leading markets, with a solid and rapidly growing base of manufacturers implementing future-oriented Industry 4.0 applications. As a result, a record number of businesses are in need of state-of-the-art network technologies to help advance their operations and boost their competitiveness. Providing solutions that can help set up effective, highly interconnected factories, the CLPA is well-positioned to support the market.

Founded in 2000 and established in Europe the following year, the association has grown into a premier open network technology association that strives to advance industrial communications and support the creation of the Connected Industries of the future. Its products, particularly CC-Link IE open gigabit industrial Ethernet and the Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) compatible CC-Link IE TSN, are widely used around the world, forming part of the CLPA's global installed base of over 30 million devices. To support the continuously growing adoption of its network solutions, the organisation is investing in local presences that can support key markets, such as the Italian industrial automation sector.

Alberto Griffini has over 25 years of experience in industrial automation, serving businesses across southern Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) in a number of product management roles. Since 2014, he has been working at Mitsubishi Electric, where he assisted in the growth of strategic partnerships, such as the CLPA and e-F@ctory Alliance. He also holds a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pavia, Italy.

In his new role as CLPA Business Developer, Alberto will focus on developing initiatives aimed at increasing the number of vendors offering compatible products. He will work synergistically with suppliers of automation devices and systems to help increase the breadth of solutions offered by CC-Link IE TSN, the CLPA and its partners.

Alberto comments: "I am excited to be supporting the widespread adoption of the CLPA's leading network technologies in Italy. Thanks to my knowledge of the local market and in-depth understanding of its needs, I will be able to work closely with device vendors and support them in the implementation of CC-Link IE TSN. I am confident that together we will develop innovative solutions for Industry 4.0 applications to support end users."

John Browett, General Manager at CLPA, concludes: "We are extremely happy to welcome Alberto to the CLPA's team and grow our support in a key region. With Alberto now part of our team, we are in a strong position to help drive the competitiveness of our customers. His extensive experience in the industrial automation sector and knowledge of the Italian market will nicely complement the skillset of our European team."
